21 billion cubic meters of gas this winter
Uzbekistan
On November 15, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting to address the ongoing efforts and plans for ensuring stable energy supply during the winter. Discussions focused on meeting rising energy demands and improving efficiency in the sector.
Officials reported that gas is being supplied in volumes that meet the growing needs of the population and economy. Modernization efforts and energy efficiency measures have significantly reduced losses, with industrial gas consumption decreasing 1.6 times over the past few years.
For the current winter season, 21 billion cubic meters of gas have been allocated for supply. Additional reserves have been prepared to ensure uninterrupted service for social institutions and industrial enterprises. A system for targeted gas delivery to thermal power plants, chemical, and metallurgical facilities is already in place.
The President emphasized the importance of involving private operators and implementing digital solutions to modernize the gas infrastructure. Partnerships with leading international companies and expanded geological exploration efforts are expected to accelerate the transformation of the energy sector.
