9 thousand schoolchildren will be tested according to world standards
Uzbekistan
Today, Uzbekistan is participating for the second time in the prestigious international PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) study, which will assess nearly 9,000 15-year-old schoolchildren from 233 schools across the country in mathematics, science, and reading literacy.
This year, about 9 thousand 15-year-old schoolchildren from 233 general education institutions across the country are involved in the testing.
In preparation for the exam, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education has organized special training sessions for test administrators. The training included issues of setting up computer and technical infrastructure, coordinating with IT specialists, and organizing the testing process.
For reference: in 2022, Uzbekistan participated in PISA for the first time and ranked 72nd in mathematics, and 80th in science and reading among 81 participating countries.
Participation in the study allows for an international assessment of the quality of school education in the country and identifies areas for its improvement.
