The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia were met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu.

"We are very constructively engaged in the negotiating process," emphasized the Armenian Foreign Minister. The Armenian Minister also noted that the parties should not limit themselves to signing a peace treaty. "We can go further: unlock all transport communications in the region," said Mirzoyan.

In turn, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the negotiations in Almaty would be very useful for settling Azerbaijani-Armenian relations.

"I am confident that we will be able to work productively over the next two days to find solutions to the existing open issues," he said during a trilateral meeting with his Armenian and Kazakh counterparts.

The talks between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Almaty will last for two days.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, welcomed the agreement of Azerbaijan and Armenia to hold talks at the Foreign Ministers level in Almaty, calling this meeting symbolic.
