By winning the Candidates Tournament, Zhavokhir Sindarov achieved a truly remarkable, historic result for the first time in the history of Uzbek chess.

Competing with the world's strongest grandmasters, he demonstrated supreme skill, displaying determination, strong will, and intellectual superiority in every game. A truly exceptional achievement in the world of chess was his 10 points in 14 games without a single loss, setting records for both points scored and victories.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President once again sincerely congratulated Javokhir Sindarov on this historic victory, emphasizing that it is a victory for our entire people, for the entire New Uzbekistan.

"Of course, no result comes by itself. Behind it all are years of tireless work, experience accumulated since childhood, a strong will, iron discipline, and, of course, the guidance of mentors and coaches, and the prayers of your parents, grandparents. Taking this opportunity, I would like to once again express my sincere gratitude to your grandparents, your parents, your teachers, and your coaches, who raised and nurtured such a worthy son of the Uzbek people," the head of state said.

As noted, during the tournament, Javokhir Sindarov vividly demonstrated the qualities inherent in our people at the chessboard: strong will, self-confidence, depth of thought, and perseverance. It was particularly emphasized that he calmly and courageously confronted super-grandmasters from India, the USA, China, the Netherlands, Germany, and Russia.

The head of state emphasized that this outstanding success was a practical result of the constant attention and care devoted to the development of sports, including chess, in our country. It was noted that the emergence of such a victorious, courageous, and resilient young generation in New Uzbekistan evokes a sense of immense pride in all of us.

In this context, it was emphasized that today, two of the top five chess players in the FIDE rankings are from Uzbekistan. This clearly demonstrates the growing potential and international prestige of the national chess school, and serves as a powerful incentive for thousands of talented young men and women passionate about this sport.

The ceremony also highlighted the new frontiers facing Zhavokhir Sindarov. Confidence was expressed that he will perform well in the decisive match for the world chess crown and will once again demonstrate to the world the potential and glory of the Uzbek chess school. It was also noted that our people also expect brilliant victories from him and his team at the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which will be held this September in Samarkand.

During the event, a presidential decree was read awarding Zhavokhir Sindarov the Order of "Mehnat Shuhrati" (Recognized Chess) for his significant contributions to the widespread popularization of chess in the country, especially among young people, instilling in the younger generation a sense of national pride, love, and devotion to the Motherland, as well as for his record-breaking results and early victory at the FIDE Candidates Tournament held in Cyprus.

The head of state ceremoniously presented this prestigious award to the chess player.

The Grandmaster expressed his deep gratitude to the President of our country for his constant attention to youth and the development of sports, the broad opportunities created, as well as for the high level of trust and recognition shown.
