An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred off the coast of Indonesia. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
The epicentre was located 175 km west of the city of Bengkulu (Sumatra Island), which has a population of 309,000 people. The hypocentre was at a depth of 10 km.
There have been no reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake. No tsunami warning was issued.
