A Master’s Program in “Legal Support for Cybersecurity” to Be Introduced at the Law Enforcement Academy

On January 22, 2025, Presidential Decree No. 17, “On Measures to Introduce a System for Training Professional Personnel to Combat Crimes Committed Using Digital Technologies,” was adopted. According to the decree, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the following programs will be introduced within the framework of annual admission quotas:

A Master’s Program in “Legal Support for Cybersecurity” to Be Introduced at the Law Enforcement Academy
The bachelor’s program in “Jurisprudence” at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy with a duration of four years, specializing in “Activities to Combat Crimes in the Field of Digital Technologies.”

A master’s program in “Legal Support for Cybersecurity” with a duration of one year at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Talented candidates will be granted the following privileges:

Winners of prestigious international, regional, and national competitions in mathematics, informatics, programming, and information technologies will be admitted to the bachelor’s program in “Activities to Combat Crimes in the Field of Digital Technologies” without an individual final interview after successfully passing the initial selection.

Candidates with prestigious international IT certifications determined by the Ministry of Digital Technologies will be exempt from the “Informatics and Information Technologies” specialization exam when applying to the master’s program in “Legal Support for Cybersecurity.”

By July 1, 2025, the Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics Faculty will be established within the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy, within the existing staff. This faculty will include departments for cyber law, exact sciences, digital technologies and information security, and forensic examinations.

The Law Enforcement Academy’s information and education portal will provide regular specialized distance learning courses in “Digital Forensics” for investigators, prosecutors, and operational-search officers of prosecutor’s offices and other investigative agencies.
