Under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a videoconference meeting dedicated to priority tasks for the development of local industry has begun.
At the beginning of his speech, the head of state emphasized that in the current conditions of instability and uncertainty, every country takes measures to protect the industries that create the most jobs.
"In such conditions, it is extremely important to support the textile, construction, and furniture industries, which employ about one million people, as well as to give new impetus to the jewelry industry, which we expect to become another driver of the economy," the President said.
It was noted that in the first four months of this year, industrial production in the country grew by 6.3% and reached 290 trillion soums.
"This is the result of timely measures taken in the current difficult situation. However, in 29 districts, production volumes decreased by 4.5 trillion soums. "These are not small numbers," Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
