A New Era of Security Begins in Central Asia from Tashkent

The first meeting of the heads of special services of Central Asian countries was held in Tashkent. This event was organized within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
At the opening ceremony, an address from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was read to the participants. In his message, it was emphasized that the dialogue among the special services of Central Asian countries should serve to develop joint approaches and effective mechanisms for ensuring regional security.
The meeting focused on developing unified approaches to assessing modern threats and risks to the security of the region's countries, as well as improving the efficiency of cooperation between special services in eliminating those threats.
The parties discussed pressing issues in regional security, the fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons, transnational crime, and the provision of information and cybersecurity, along with other mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.
This event marked an important stage in the development of security cooperation among Central Asian states and laid the groundwork for regular meetings of special services' heads to further strengthen peace and stability in the region.
