A unique "World of Opportunities" center for people with disabilities has opened in Andijan
Uzbekistan
A new model of social support is being implemented in Uzbekistan - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the regional "Opportunities World" social services center in Andijan, opened within the framework of the Decree of February 27, 2025. The Center became the country's first structure that combines rehabilitation, training, inclusive leisure activities, and early support for children with disabilities and people in need of care.
The center was built on an area of almost 5 hectares. It includes administrative buildings, classrooms for inclusive education and vocational training, a sports complex, a swimming pool, leisure facilities, as well as an early intervention department - a unique service for the country to help children from birth to three years old and their mothers.
Services are provided for medical and psychological rehabilitation, foreign language learning, career guidance, and additional education for children from low-income families.
The President especially emphasized:
"We will continue to develop such centers. The main thing is to have faith, patience, and the desire to live."
A daycare system has been created: thanks to social workers, families can work while their loved ones are receiving care and classes at the center.
