Today, on January 31, a plenary session was held in Almaty as part of the "Digital Almaty 2025" International Digital Forum. During the plenary session, Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov delivered a speech on large-scale reforms in digitalization and the implementation of modern technologies in socio-economic sectors. He also emphasized Uzbekistan's ambition to become one of the global leaders in the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Uzbekistan's AI Development Strategy until 2030 has been approved by the country's President, with clear target indicators set.

Plans include developing AI-based software and increasing the volume of digital services to $1.5 billion.

Several scientific laboratories will be established, and a high-performance server infrastructure will be built.

Over 20 projects have already been implemented, and the integration of AI technologies into key economic sectors has yielded significant results.

Practical applications of AI:

The Palm Pay payment system has been introduced in the Tashkent metro, providing passengers with a convenient and fast payment solution.

The "My ID" and "UzFace" systems have been launched in banks and major shopping centers, accelerating client identification and reducing the risks of digital fraud.

Virtual assistants have been deployed in the tax system and government services portal, making it easier for citizens to receive consultations and access electronic services.
As a result, Uzbekistan climbed 17 positions in the "Government AI Readiness" ranking in 2024.

Additionally, the session highlighted the following:
Uzbekistan is actively developing its digital economy, integrating information and communication technologies into government administration, education, healthcare, and agriculture.

Large-scale efforts are underway to enhance IT infrastructure.

Uzbekistan is expanding cooperation with leading international organizations and IT companies to develop AI regulation standards, train specialists, and create the necessary infrastructure.

The forum also included discussions on digitalization, artificial intelligence, and prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in this field.
