On 14 March, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Alisher Kayumov arrived in Singapore and started his duties. This is reported by Dunyo news agency.

Prior to his appointment in Singapore, he worked as a counsellor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany.

He is 54 years old and graduated from Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan). He worked for many years in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations (now the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade), and was Counsellor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany.

As an advisor to the Embassy, he headed a diplomatic mission to Austria and international organisations in Vienna. He has experience in private business, including abroad. Since 2017 worked as Counsellor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin.

It should be recalled that Alisher Kayumov replaced Kakhramon Shakirov, who was accredited as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Singapore from 2018 to 2024.
