In Budapest, within the framework of the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, an award ceremony was held for the Alisher Navoi International Prize - one of the most prestigious awards of the Turkic world.

In 2025, the prize was awarded to the famous Turkish biochemist, Nobel Prize laureate, Honorary Doctor of the National University of Uzbekistan Aziz Sanjar. His scientific achievements and contribution to the development of humanitarian and cultural dialogue are highly valued as a symbol of the unity of the Turkic peoples.

Congratulating the laureate, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the recognition of the scientist in the international arena will inspire the young generation of the entire Turkic world to scientific and cultural achievements.

The Alisher Navoi Prize was established at Mirziyoyev's initiative in 2021 and is awarded every two years for contributions to strengthening Turkic unity, promoting culture, science, peace, and security. The first laureate was Chingiz Aitmatov - posthumously, in 2022.
