Apple has conceded the lead in smartphone sales to Samsung

The South Korean giant Samsung became the world's largest smartphone supplier in the first quarter of 2024, according to data from research firm International Data Corporation (IDC).
IDC reported that in January-March 2024, Samsung accounted for 20.8% of the global smartphone market, while Apple's share was 17.3%.
Chinese Xiaomi took third place in smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2024.
IDC analysts expect Samsung and Apple to continue to dominate the high-end price segment, but also point to potential for further growth and diversification of brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Transsion, OPPO/OnePlus, and vivo.
