Araghchi Meets Turkish, Saudi and Indian Counterparts on UNGA Sidelines

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in New York. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and were confirmed by both Iranian and Turkish sides.
In New York, Araghchi has been holding diplomatic consultations with foreign counterparts during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly. His meeting with Fidan was one of several bilateral engagements during his visit to the United States.
According to the Turkish side, Fidan and Araghchi held talks in New York on Friday, September 25. Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the meeting but did not provide further details about the substance of the discussions.
In addition to his meeting with the Turkish foreign minister, Araghchi held separate talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The meeting also took place in New York on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly. Iranian sources reported the talks, while footage released by Iranian media showed the two ministers meeting before their discussions.
Araghchi also met India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The Indian side confirmed the meeting on September 25. Jaishankar said the two discussed the latest developments related to the conflict in the Gulf region and agreed to remain in contact.
The meetings form part of Araghchi’s diplomatic contacts during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, where he has held separate discussions with representatives of regional countries and other diplomatic partners.
