Artificial intelligence will be included in Uzbekistan's school curricula

Uzbekistan

Starting from the next academic year, Uzbek schools will introduce artificial intelligence classes, while in 2026 the country will host two of the world’s most prestigious international Olympiads — in chemistry and informatics.

Artificial intelligence will be included in Uzbekistan's school curricula
Since last year, first graders in Uzbekistan have been studying information technology. Now, the curriculum will expand: senior students will begin learning the basics of artificial intelligence.

To implement this, 2,000 classrooms will be equipped with computers and 6,300 interactive whiteboards. The necessary funding will be included in next year’s state budget.

Specialized branch schools will also be established for gifted students: Al-Khwarizmi in IT, Mirzo Ulugbek in engineering, and Ibn Sina in natural sciences. Each school will be affiliated with regional technical universities, and top graduates will be admitted directly to the second year of these institutions.

In 2026, Uzbekistan will become the first country in Central Asia to host the International Chemistry and Informatics Olympiads. The Prime Minister has been instructed to oversee preparations to ensure the competitions are held at the highest level.
