Train Ticket Prices to Increase Again from February 1

Uzbekistan Railways has announced that train ticket prices will increase again starting February 1. Specifically, tickets for the Afrosiyob train will rise by 20−25%, while tickets for the Sharq, Nasaf, and Uzbekistan trains will increase by 30%.
For the high-speed Afrosiyob train:
Economy class tickets will increase by 20%,
VIP and business class tickets by 25%.
For the Sharq, Nasaf, and Uzbekistan express trains, ticket prices will increase by 30%.
Thus, ticket prices for the Afrosiyob train will be:
Tashkent — Samarkand:
Economy — 294,000 UZS,
Business — 450,000 UZS,
VIP — 619,000 UZS.
Tashkent — Karshi:
Economy — 406,000 UZS,
Business — 634,000 UZS,
VIP — 854,000 UZS.
Tashkent — Bukhara:
Economy — 484,000 UZS,
Business — 751,000 UZS,
VIP — 994,000 UZS.
According to the company, the price hikes aim to cover costs related to railway infrastructure, electricity, fuel, and transportation; purchase high-speed electric trains; modernize the passenger car fleet; align station operations with modern standards; and provide high-quality passenger services.
As a reminder, under the presidential decree of October 10, 2023, regarding the radical reform of the railway sector, state tariff regulation for passenger services on express and high-speed trains was abolished as of January 1, 2024, and a market-based pricing mechanism was introduced.
Since then, tariffs have been raised several times, including on November 1, 2023, January 20, 2024, and May 15, 2024.
Economy class tickets will increase by 20%,
VIP and business class tickets by 25%.
For the Sharq, Nasaf, and Uzbekistan express trains, ticket prices will increase by 30%.
Thus, ticket prices for the Afrosiyob train will be:
Tashkent — Samarkand:
Economy — 294,000 UZS,
Business — 450,000 UZS,
VIP — 619,000 UZS.
Tashkent — Karshi:
Economy — 406,000 UZS,
