"In accordance with previously reached agreements, negotiations between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will take place on May 10, 2024, in Almaty," the publication said.

Earlier, it was reported that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his approval of the agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia to hold talks between the foreign ministers in Almaty regarding the preparation of a peace treaty between the two states.

It is worth reminding that in September, Azerbaijan conducted a military operation, taking full control of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. The head of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Samvel Shahramanyan, signed a decree abolishing its existence from January 1, 2024. More than 100,000 ethnic Armenians left the region. On October 5, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a declaration recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.
