Bahodir Kurbanov Elected President of the Uzbekistan Football Association

The Chairman of the State Security Service, General-Colonel Bahodir Kurbanov, has been elected as the President of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA).
Candidates for the presidency, nominated by UFA members, were reviewed for compliance in accordance with the Election Code and the Association's Charter with the participation of the Election Committee members.
According to Article 30, Clause 4 of the UFA Charter, the delegates nominated Bahodir Kurbanov for the position of UFA President.
In accordance with the Charter and Election Code, Bahodir Kurbanov has been officially elected as the President of the Uzbekistan Football Association.
Earlier, it was reported that, as per the UFA charter, the presidential election was scheduled for February 22, 2025, and that the nomination of General-Colonel Bahodir Kurbanov was proposed for the presidency.
At the end of January, the former head of the State Security Service, Abdusalom Azizov, stepped down as UFA President. His duties were temporarily performed by UFA First Vice President Ravshan Ermatov.
