Bakhtiyor Saidov Agrees on Business Council and "Made in Uzbekistan" Exhibition in Algeria

Uzbekistan and Algeria are shifting toward the practical implementation of their bilateral economic cooperation, leveraging their complementary advantages to solidify interregional ties between Central Asia and Africa.
Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a series of pivotal talks with Algeria’s top economic leadership, including Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Kamel Rezig and Minister of Mining Mourad Hanifi. The discussions centered primarily on diversifying trade relations, establishing resilient transport and logistics corridors, and launching large-scale joint initiatives.
During the dialogue with Kamel Rezig, the Uzbek side put forward a package of strategic initiatives, including the launch of a Joint Intergovernmental Commission, the establishment of a bilateral Business Council, and the organization of the "Made in Uzbekistan" national industrial exhibition in Algeria. In the meeting with Mourad Hanifi, the partners identified the mining sector and geological exploration as a major new growth engine. The parties deeply discussed the joint development of promising mineral deposits, the setup of specialized joint ventures, and the creation of technological chains for deep processing of mineral raw materials to manufacture high-value-added products.
