Bank Credit Portfolio Reaches 500.6 Trillion UZS

According to data from the Central Bank, as of August 1, the credit portfolio of Uzbekistan's banks reached 500.6 trillion UZS. In July, the total credit portfolio increased by 6.7 trillion UZS, with a year-to-date growth of 29.2 trillion UZS, representing an annual growth rate of 6.2%.
The growth in the credit portfolio was primarily observed in state banks, where the increase amounted to 2.8 trillion UZS. In other commercial banks, this figure reached 3.9 trillion UZS, contributing positively to the overall financial stability of the banking sector.
However, the share of non-performing loans in the portfolio stood at 20.8 trillion UZS, or 4.2% of the total. After a decrease in June, the volume of non-performing loans rose again by 820 billion UZS in July.
The majority of this increase in non-performing loans was attributed to Ipoteka Bank (652 billion UZS) and UzNatsBank (545 billion UZS).
