Builders Polluting the Atmosphere Will Be Held Accountable
Uzbekistan
Officials who fail to prevent the spread of dust and sand particles on construction sites will be fined 10 times the BHM (3,750,000 UZS). If this violation is repeated within a year, the fine will increase to 50 times the BHM (18,750,000 UZS).
According to Law No. O‘RQ-1042 of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated March 3, 2025, amendments and additions have been made to the Administrative Liability Code to ensure compliance with air protection requirements on construction sites.
Under the new law, officials who do not comply with environmental safety regulations at construction sites will be held accountable as follows:
If no measures are taken to prevent the spread of dust and sand in construction areas larger than 500 square meters, adjacent territories, and exit roads, or if pollutants are released into the atmosphere beyond permissible norms, officials will be fined 10 times the BHM (3,750,000 UZS).
If the same violation is repeated within a year, the fine will be increased to 50 times the BHM (18,750,000 UZS).
The law will come into force three months after its official publication.
These changes aim to enforce environmental regulations in the construction sector and reduce air pollution.
