Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are opening new checkpoints
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are expanding infrastructure for trade and logistics. Four new checkpoints will appear on the border between the two countries. This was announced by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, during a meeting with entrepreneurs in the Zhetysu region.
According to the diplomat, the Uzbek side is also carrying out a major modernization of the existing checkpoints, which will optimize logistics processes and reduce cargo processing time. This decision is aimed at simplifying border crossing, accelerating trade turnover, and developing economic cooperation.
Kazakhstan, in turn, plays a key role in Uzbekistan's economy - more than 1,000 enterprises with Kazakhstani capital are already operating in the republic, which emphasizes trust and cooperation prospects.
Trade turnover between the countries in 2024 exceeded $4.2 billion, while the export of Uzbek products amounted to $1.4 billion, and the import of Kazakhstani goods - $2.8 billion. The opening of new checkpoints should accelerate trade development and attract additional investments.
