Cause of Former Iranian President's Helicopter Crash Revealed
A thorough investigation conducted by security and intelligence services in Iran confirmed that the incident was purely accidental and not the result of sabotage. The possibility of human error was also ruled out after a detailed examination involving the screening of over 30,000 individuals.

Additionally, it was discovered that the helicopter was carrying more passengers than allowed, which prevented the aircraft from gaining sufficient altitude. This, coupled with heavy fog conditions, led to the helicopter colliding with a mountain.

The incident occurred on May 19 in the Verzegan region in northwest Iran. At the time of the crash, the delegation, including President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials, was returning to Tehran after a visit to Azerbaijan.
