China will build the largest wind turbine in history
Chinese company Ming Yang Smart Energy announced plans to build a giant turbine with a capacity of 22 megawatts with a rotor diameter of more than 310 metres. This is reported by Bloomberg.

It is noted that this could be one of the largest mechanisms in the history of mankind. Turbine hubs should be located high enough. So that the blades do not sink into the water, the height of the new wind generator will be about 330 metres. It can be compared to the Eiffel Tower.

The working area of the rotor is about 75,000 square metres. This is the equivalent of more than 10 football fields or 60 Olympic swimming pools.

It is noted that the size of the device is due to efficiency rather than the pursuit of records. Longer blades capture more wind and generate more power. Larger turbines typically reduce costs for wind turbine developers.

Ming yang Smart Energy plans to have a 300-metre turbine up and running by 2024 or 2025.
