China's new ambassador to Uzbekistan appointed

Yu Jun has been appointed China's new ambassador to Uzbekistan. Previously, he worked in relevant departments and offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as in Chinese embassies and consulates abroad. The previous Chinese ambassador, Jiang Yan, completed her diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan in February 2023.

Yu Jun has been appointed China's new ambassador to Uzbekistan, the embassy's press service said.

Yu Jun was born in August 1972 and previously worked in relevant departments and offices of the Foreign Ministry, as well as in Chinese embassies and consulates abroad.

Yu Jun noted in his welcome letter that the embassy will firmly adhere to China's foreign policy towards Uzbekistan, work together with benevolent representatives of Uzbekistan's society, actively implement important agreements between the two heads of state, promote the docking of development strategies, as well as promote friendly exchanges in various fields.

The previous Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan, Jiang Yan, completed her diplomatic mission in February 2023. At that time, the president presented the diplomat with the Dustlik Order, awarded for her contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.
