US President Donald Trump is once again imposing entry restrictions on the country, signing a decree on June 4 prohibiting citizens of 12 states from entering. The document will come into force on June 10th and is a development of the previous policy known as "prohibition on Muslims."
President Donald Trump signed a declaration prohibiting the entry of citizens of Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen into the United States. In addition, partial restrictions are being introduced for visitors from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
"I must act to protect national security and the national interests of the United States and its people," Trump said in his statement.
The list was compiled based on a January decree ordering the State Department, the Ministry of Security, and intelligence to assess the "enemy attitude" of several countries towards the US and the potential threat from their citizens.
The ban will take effect at midnight on Monday, June 10th.
