A meeting between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the athletes, their parents, and coaches who participated in the Paris Olympics has begun at the Ko'ksaroy residence.
The head of our state sincerely congratulated the young men and women once again on their dignified participation in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games and their great historical victory.
"This prestigious sports event, in which nearly 11,000 of the most famous athletes from over 200 countries participated, has truly become a source of records and unprecedented achievements for us.
First of all, it should be noted that Uzbekistan participated in this Olympics for the first time with the largest team, that is, with 90 athletes competing in 19 sports.
It is especially worth mentioning that our athletes participated in the Olympic Games for the first time in such sports as women's wrestling, archery, diving, and football," the President said.
