Despite the sanctions imposed after the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, spare parts for Boeing and Airbus aircraft were imported into Russia in 2022. This was reported by the New York Times.
According to the publication, deliveries were made through front companies, and the last buyers of aircraft parts were Aeroflot, Pobeda, Ural, Russia, UTair and S7 Airlines.
