$40 Million Grant Agreement Signed Between Ministry of Preschool and School Education and Islamic Development Bank

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Preschool and School Education participated in the international forum “Human Capability Initiative 2025”, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This was announced by Minister Hilola Umarova on her official Telegram channel.
This prestigious event, held annually under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, brings together participants from around the world to discuss challenges in education, economy, and technology, and to seek innovative solutions. Notably, Uzbekistan was the only Central Asian country invited to this event.
On the very first day of the forum, a $40 million grant agreement was signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
President of IsDB, Muhammad Al-Jasser, expressed his satisfaction in being a reliable partner to the government of Uzbekistan in creating better educational opportunities for future generations.
As a result of the meeting, a grant agreement was also signed under the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) initiative.
Key areas of the project include:
construction of 58 new inclusive schools across Uzbekistan;
equipping schools with modern technology;
teacher training and professional development programs;
development of inclusive education;
improvement of school curricula;
enhancement of preschool education quality.
