Due to the construction in Tashkent not being completed on time, the 2025 Asian Youth Games will be held in Bahrain

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced that the 2025 Asian Youth Games will be held in Bahrain, as Uzbekistan withdrew from hosting the event.
On Monday, December 2, 2024, during an online meeting of the OCA Executive Board, it was reported that the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan had sent a letter to the OCA stating that due to the Olympic Village construction in Tashkent not being completed on time, Uzbekistan could not host the Asian Youth Games scheduled for September 2025.
The Bahrain Olympic Committee announced that they are ready to host the 2025 Asian Youth Games in terms of sports facilities, accommodation, and medical services.
Faris Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, stated that the Asian Youth Games would receive full support from the leadership, particularly from the President of the BOC, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
The OCA Executive Board unanimously approved that the 2025 Asian Youth Games be held in Bahrain, expressing gratitude to the Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee for all their investments and noting that Uzbekistan would be capable of hosting major events in the future.
The OCA Executive Board meeting was chaired by Dr. Thani Al-Kuwari, the OCA's second Vice President.
