World
Central Africa stands on the precipice of one of the most devastating health crises of modern times. The rapid spread of the Ebola virus, which has simultaneously struck two nations, has forced the international community into an emergency mobilization. The situation at the epicenter is deteriorating by the day: the official death toll has already entered triple digits, and the infection rate is outpacing the forecasts of local medical teams, turning the outbreak into a threat of global proportions.
The number of laboratory-confirmed deaths from Ebola in the DR Congo has surpassed 100, reaching 101 fatalities. According to the country's Ministry of Health, the total number of infected individuals has risen to 550. The current outbreak, which has also affected Uganda, threatens to become one of the most massive and deadly in recent decades.
