Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by "Anadolu".
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, the two heads of state discussed the course of the tense conflict between Israel and Palestine, as well as measures to prevent escalation.
The interview assessed what initiatives will be implemented to meet humanitarian needs in the region.
Emphasising that the shelling of peaceful settlements is a cause for concern and that such initiatives will not be approved by Turkey, Erdogan said that Turkey would continue to make every effort to ensure calm in the region.
