EU prepares new sanctions package against Russia
According to the German news agency DPA, the list of sanctions will include individuals and organisations whose assets in the EU will be frozen. Companies that contribute to Russia's military and technological strengthening or to the development of its defence and security sectors will also fall under the restrictions.

According to the DPA, by 24 February, the EU also plans to consider the confiscation of the frozen assets of the Bank of Russia, the total amount of which is about $300bn. Later these assets are planned to be transferred to Ukraine.

According to a report by Bloomberg agency on 19 January on the preparation of the 13th package of EU sanctions against Russia, the new measures will include tougher trade restrictions, expansion of blacklists and stronger control over circumvention of Russia's sanctions through companies and countries inside the EU.
