The first day of the NATO summit in Washington showed the aggressive nature of the alliance, the Russian side did not hear a single word about peace during the events, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
"The first day of the NATO summit confirmed the aggressive nature of the alliance. The United States and its satellites continued to preach militarism and military expansion," he told reporters.
According to Antonov, Western countries continue to impose authoritarian orders favourable to the "golden billion" and also pave the way to World War III. Thus, during the events on the first day of the summit, Russia did not hear a single word about peace.
The 75th anniversary summit of the North Atlantic Alliance is taking place in Washington from Tuesday to Thursday. As Bloomberg and Financial Times noted, the event will be marred by internal chaos amid the fact that the largest members of the alliance are in dire straits.
