A New York court has found the defendant guilty of espionage, hacking, contempt of court, making false statements to the FBI and possession of child pornography.
A former employee of the US Central Intelligence Agency has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for passing information about the secret hacking programmes of the intelligence service to the Wikileaks platform.
A New York court on 1 February found 35-year-old Joshua Schulte guilty of espionage, hacking, contempt of court, making false statements to the FBI and possession of child pornography.
According to the US authorities, Schulte committed the largest theft of classified data in the history of the United States.
Recall that from 2012 to 2016, the man was involved in a group of hackers working for the CIA. During this time, he collected data on malicious programmes used by the intelligence service for cyber espionage and passed them to Wikileaks.
