The "Group of Seven" (G7) has stated that it "categorically condemns any threat of nuclear weapon use by Russia" in the context of the war in Ukraine. This was revealed in an official statement following the meeting in Italy.
In a statement made following the meeting of the foreign ministers of the G7 countries in Fuyji, Italy, on November 26, it was stated: "The Group of Seven categorically condemns Russia's irresponsible and threatening nuclear rhetoric, as well as its policy of strategic intimidation."
"We will never tolerate Russia's threat to use nuclear weapons, nor the use of nuclear weapons in its aggressive war against Ukraine," the document emphasized.
The countries also expressed deep concern about Russia's use of chemical weapons and "riot suppression means" on the front lines in Ukraine.
"Using such weapons as a method of warfare is a gross violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention," the G7 statement said, also calling on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to investigate the incidents.
The OPCW had previously detected traces of tear gas in samples from the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The "Group of Seven" (G7) – Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Japan – "are working together in pursuit of common goals," said Berbok.
According to Bloomberg, the European Union is considering imposing sanctions on several Chinese companies that are helping Russia develop strike drones for its war against Ukraine.
The 15th sanctions package was discussed in the European Union prior to the G7 foreign ministers' meeting.
The proposal includes over 50 individuals and nearly 30 companies in the 15th sanctions package. These measures must be supported by all 27 members of the European Union.
