Gas and Electricity Subsidies Now Available Online
Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, needy families will be able to submit online applications for compensation of gas and electricity expenses. The new system is expected to speed up payments and simplify the process of obtaining subsidies.
On December 31, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution allowing families to submit applications online by themselves.
Previously, applications could only be submitted via the “Inson” center. Now, applications can be submitted through the Unified National Social Protection system, the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services, at a state services center, or via a social worker attached to the mahalla. Applications are accepted until the 16th of each month.
The system automatically processes applications through the Unified Register and decides on approval or rejection of payments. Families included in the Social Register will receive subsidies automatically without submitting a separate application.
Compensation is available to households where per capita income is below 1.5 minimum consumer expenses (1,003,500 soms) and that fall under the categories of “poor families” or “state-supported families.”
Payments will be denied if the household owns:
a passenger car younger than 12 years (7 years if there is a family member with I, II group disability or disability from childhood),
cargo vehicles or special equipment under 15 years,
two or more cars or units of special equipment,
two or more real estate properties, including land plots, at least one non-residential property,
a previously assigned subsidy for the month or an active subsidy for the current month.
By the 5th of each month, the National Agency of Social Protection will send the list of recipients to the People’s Bank. Funds will reach the bank by the 25th, and be credited to recipients’ bank or social cards by the 27th.
The Ministry of Digital Development and the National Agency of Social Protection are required to launch a full online application system by February 1, 2026, with automatic assignment of payments. An electronic application channel should also be operational by this date.
