The meeting was held on March 2 in New York. In her remarks, Melania Trump described the current period as “a difficult time” and emphasized that the United States supports children around the world.

“The United States supports all children around the world,” she stated, stressing that the issue concerns a global situation rather than any specific conflict. She also expressed hope that peace would soon be restored.

The previous UN Security Council meeting was held on February 28 and was urgently convened following the launch of the US and Israeli military operation against Iran.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, stating that they contradict international law, including the UN Charter. At the same time, he also criticized Iran’s retaliatory actions, emphasizing the inadmissibility of violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity in the region.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported that on February 28 at least 165 people were killed and around 100 injured after a missile fell near a girls’ school in the city of Minab, Hormozgan province. According to the local prosecutor’s office, most of the victims were students.

The Israel Defense Forces stated that they were “not aware of any Israeli or American strikes” in the specified area.
