Germany has unveiled a new decoration, dubbed "Europe's most expensive New Year tree." The tree is made up of over 2,000 gold coins, topped with a giant coin. This dazzling marvel is valued at an estimated $2.4 million.
The tree is on display at Munich's Gold House by Pro Aurum in collaboration with the Austrian Mint. It contains a total of 138 pounds (63 kilograms) of pure gold, consisting of 2,018 one-ounce Vienna Philharmonic gold coins and a massive 20-ounce coin used in place of a star.
This stunning three-meter-tall tree took over an hour to assemble and will be on display until December 15.
