Sorokin mentioned that similar measures are not required for diesel fuel at the moment, but the government plans to restrict diesel exports by non-producers even within the Customs Union and the EAEU. This work will continue.

The government initially imposed a ban on gasoline exports from March 1 to August 31, 2024, to maintain stability in the fuel market during the spring fieldwork, vacation season, and planned refinery maintenance.

From May 20 to June 30, the ban was temporarily lifted due to the completion of unscheduled refinery maintenance and the formation of sufficient fuel reserves. Later, the ban was extended until the end of July. Minister of Energy Sergey Tsivilev noted that the measures proved effective in supplying the domestic market.

In mid-July, the Ministry of Energy proposed extending the ban on gasoline exports for September-October and for non-producers until the end of 2024. This will help prevent market disruptions during refinery maintenance and the seasonal demand in the fall.
