Holidays Extended in Samarkand Due to Summit

Some universities in Samarkand, as well as affiliated technical schools and academic lyceums, will be granted short-term holidays.
On April 4–5 this year, Samarkand will host the First Official "Central Asia - European Union" Summit and an international conference on "Central Asia Facing Global Climate Threats: Solidarity for Common Prosperity."
To ensure the high-level organization of this international event and maintain security, measures will be taken to reduce and restrict transportation movement in the city.
In this regard, from April 1 to April 5, 2025, the following higher education institutions, along with their affiliated technical schools and academic lyceums, will have a short-term academic break deducted from the summer holidays:
Samarkand State University;
Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages;
Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service;
Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage;
Samarkand branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies;
Samarkand State Medical University;
Uzbekistan-Finland Pedagogical Institute;
Academic Lyceum of Samarkand State Medical University;
Academic Lyceum of Samarkand State University;
Abu Ali ibn Sina Siyob Public Health Technical School.
Academic activities will resume on Monday, April 7.
Note: Missed classes for students of these universities will be compensated during the first days of the summer break.
