In Tashkent, the head of the Uzatom agency met with the CEO of the Hungarian company MVM EGI Zrt. to discuss Hungary’s potential participation in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.
The parties focused on possible financing through the Hungarian Eximbank and explored the prospects of signing an agreement on implementing “dry cooling” systems (dry cooling towers) as part of the project’s technological solutions.
Both sides agreed to continue detailed technical and financial discussions during the next negotiation round, scheduled for January 2026 in Hungary.
