On October 4, an airstrike targeted Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in the densely populated Dahiya area of Beirut. The attack killed Safieddine and the intelligence chief, Hussein Ali al-Zeima, along with over 25 other senior commanders.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is touring the Middle East, urging Israel to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials to discuss the situation.

Since the beginning of the week, 230 trucks carrying aid, including water and food, have been sent to northern Gaza, despite the ongoing Israeli military offensive.
