Uzbekistan's State Security Service officers uncovered two large shipments of illegal drugs in Tashkent, seizing medications worth over 4.5 billion soums.

In the first case, during a search of a residential building in the Olmazor district of the capital, 3,615 packages of 72 medicines - including "Trenaksa," "Sumamigren," "Femileks" - were found in the possession of a 76-year-old man and his son. The total cost of the batch exceeds 1 billion soums. It was established that the suspects regularly purchased illegal drugs in the regions of the country at reduced prices and sold them in Tashkent.

In the second case, 57,407 units of 456 medicines, as well as 835 empty packages of 18 types of medicines and one tablet packaging device, were seized from one of the pharmacies in the capital. Experts estimated the value of the seized medications at 3.5 billion soums.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 186-3, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan ("Illegal circulation of medicines"). Investigative actions are underway.
