Increase in Iranian Tourists Visiting Uzbekistan

In January–February 2025, 2,900 tourists from the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Uzbekistan. This figure is 2,000 more or 3.4 times higher than during the same period last year, indicating a strengthening of tourism ties between Iran and Uzbekistan.
The purposes of Iranian visitors’ trips to Uzbekistan were as follows:
Business trips – 2,200 people
Tourism – 630 people
Visiting relatives – 24 people
Studying – 20 people
Commercial purposes – 3 people
Uzbekistan’s rich history, cultural heritage, and shared civilizational roots with Iran have been key factors in this growth. Additionally, simplified visa procedures and improved transport connections have also contributed to the increased flow of tourists.
