The 32 kg Mahda satellite and two nano-satellites, Kayhan-2 and Hatef-1, weighing less than 10 kg, were reportedly launched into a 450 km orbit. The Mahda satellite was developed by the Iranian Space Research Centre to test the accuracy of the launch vehicle in delivering cargo into orbit. The two nanosatellites are designed to test narrowband communication and geopositioning systems.

According to ISNA, the launch was carried out on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
