A Doctor of Economics, Professor, Chairman of the Republican Council for Higher Education, and Rector of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, he devoted his entire life to advancing science, higher education, and the training of future generations of specialists. Born on August 20, 1952, Uktam Umurzakov dedicated his entire professional career to his alma mater. Rising from a junior research fellow to the position of rector, he played a key role in transforming the institute into one of Uzbekistan&rsquo;s leading engineering universities while significantly expanding its international academic cooperation. Throughout his distinguished academic career, he authored more than 120 scientific and methodological publications, including over 50 textbooks and monographs. At his initiative, the international CONMECHYDRO conferences were established, bringing together scientists and young researchers from around the world. As a scientific supervisor, he mentored more than 20 Doctors of Science and PhD candidates, many of whom are now making valuable contributions to science, education, and public administration. Colleagues, students, and friends remember Professor Umurzakov as a man of integrity, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his profession. His outstanding professionalism, thoughtful guidance, and genuine care for people left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
