An information war has erupted over the health of Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. While Western media outlets report him being in critical condition, official Tehran insists that the leader is alive, healthy, and in full control of the country.

Iranian MFA Denies Reports of Supreme Leader’s Critical Condition
Speculation regarding Khamenei’s incapacity was fueled by a report in The Times, which, citing diplomatic cables, claimed the leader was unconscious at a hospital in the city of Qom. It was alleged that the injuries he sustained on the first day of the U.S. and Israeli attacks were extremely severe.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh categorically denied these claims in an interview with TASS. "He is in good health and controls everything," the diplomat stated. The Foreign Ministry explained Khamenei’s total absence from the public eye since his election as a necessary security measure. According to Khatibzadeh, in a climate where the U.S. "assassinates heads of state in violation of international law" and Israel is prepared for any form of sabotage, the leader’s public appearance would be an unjustifiable risk.

Despite Tehran’s official assurances, the international community continues to monitor the situation closely, as the Supreme Leader’s physical well-being remains a pivotal factor for regional stability amidst the ongoing military conflict.
