The era of high-speed space internet is thoroughly enveloping the Central Asian region. Following its neighbors, the global satellite network Starlink has officially opened access to its technologies for residents of Kyrgyzstan, promising to eradicate the digital divide between metropolitan hubs and high-altitude villages. This milestone intensifies the anticipation surrounding the company's next major step, as Tashkent has already officially confirmed that Uzbek users will gain access to Elon Musk's satellite technologies before the end of this year.

Starlink satellite internet has officially become available to residents of Kyrgyzstan. The state-owned company ElKat serves as the infrastructure partner for the project, providing subscribers with local IP addresses. The initial hardware kit will cost users 36,270 soms (approximately 415 USD). Elon Musk's network has already gone live in Kazakhstan (August 2025) and Tajikistan (February 2026).

The next phase will feature Uzbekistan, where the pilot launch of satellite internet is scheduled for late 2026. Speaking at a forum in Shymkent, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov emphasized that the project is designed to provide stable connectivity to the country's most remote and hard-to-reach rural settlements, where terrestrial fiber-optic and cellular networks operate poorly or are entirely absent.
