A Hamas spokesman said the truce was extended under the same conditions as the previous one.

Mark Regev, an adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed to CNN that an agreement had been reached to extend the truce for two days, but said it would only take effect if Hamas fulfilled its commitments under the first four-day truce and released another group of hostages by the end of Monday, 27 November.

The Gaza ceasefire began to take effect on the morning of 24 November - according to preliminary reports, it lasted for four days. Under the agreement, Hamas was to release 50 Israeli hostages and Israel was to release 150 Palestinian prisoners.
